Lohri celebration in Pine Grove College of Education
Lohri is a popular winter time Punjabi folk festival celebrated primarily by Sikhs and Hindus from the Punjab region in Northern India. Lohri marks the end of winter season and tarditional welcome for longer days.Lohri is harvest festival of Punjab.Many people believe the festival commemorates the passing of the winter solastice.Lohri is celebrated in our campus with boundless joy and fervour.The college staff and students celebrated Lohri by lighting fire and creating a bonfire to mark the onset of longer days.Students present cultural programme like Giddha,Bhangra,folk songs,traditional folk dances etc. on this day.The students also learnt how this festival prompts to be thankful to God’s provisions and celebrate his creations by its focus on farming.
